12:30 pm - Fainting in the shower?
Ok, I just had an odd and kind of scary experience today.  I got into the shower around noon, washed my hair and was just starting to shave when my body started feeling nauseated, heavy, tired and then stars popped up in front of my eyes.  I thought if I just breathed through it I'd be ok but then before I knew it the stars had taken over my vision and I couldn't see.  I stumbled out of the tub without turning off the water and fumbled around trying to find the sink so I could splash some cold water on my face because for some reason I felt it was just too hot and I needed something cold to get the symptoms to go away.  It kind of worked as my vision returned enough so I can make out the shape of the door and I opened it and stumbled out and had to kneel outside the bathroom door on the floor for a few minutes catching my breath before my vision fully returned and I felt comfortable enough to rush back in and rinse the shaving cream off before getting out.

The water was on the hot side but not scalding, but my showers are always like that, and even though my usual showers take anywhere from 30minutes to an hour I had been in for about 15min before it all started.  I've experienced this once before a few months ago but that time I scrambled out as soon as the tiredness settled in and so I didn't have my vision blurred to such an extent.  I looked it up online and apparently fainting or feeling faint in the shower's pretty common, but it's kind of a blow to my pride since I've been someone who, although doesn't go out of her way to stay fit (ie. gyms, eating healthy, etc.) I don't take medication regularly for anything, fairly healthy, rarely gets sick, etc., etc.  I always hear about people fainting but I didn't think it'd happen to me.

Admittedly...it was scary.  When I couldn't see and I was in the tub and I just knew it was getting worse, but I didn't know whether I could manage to get out of the tub or not.  I wanted to cry for someone to come help me but since I was alone in the apartment...(not to mention naked  OTL)

The weird thing is now that it's over I almost feel like I might have dreamed up the entire thing.  I didn't even get to finish shaving OTL...

oh no are you okay???
had you eaten anything yet? it happened to me once too, where i blacked out in the shower after swimming.. felt the same thing you did: heavy, tired, nauseous.. good thing i got out of the pool in time :P. i went to the doctor and they're like.. your blood sugar was low, did you eat anything before swimming.
it really is scary though, i guess more so cause you were alone in the apartment (i was in the girls' changeroom at mnt lol.. ).. i hope you're okay..
if you need anything you should give me a call/shout and come over!! i may be busy but you can always chill here lol (even if i'm not directly spending time with you).

also: i have leftover turkey that you should partake in if you so choose :DD

I ate some snacks and stuff before my shower, actually I was feeling quite full when I showered. I kind of suspected that maybe all of my blood went to help digest the food and so my head was lacking oxygen until I realized it doesn't really work that way.

Yeah, heavy, tired and nauseated describes it pretty well. I thought I was going to throw up in the shower which would have been quite icky.

Turkey?! :D I LOVE turkey! Too bad the whole Thanksgiving dinner isn't really a tradition in Chinese families, I love the whole turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing dinner, but my mom never makes any of those things ;A;

What do you do in the shower for an hour....

But seriously, I'm glad you're okay. D: Sometimes I feel a bit similiar... I'll be getting out of the bath or shower and will feel dizzy and like my vision is fading away. It goes away after like 2-3 seconds though and I feel fine. o_O

Just try and be careful and safe...

Wash hair, shave, wash face, warm up.

I thought it'd go away in a few seconds too which was why I actually stayed in the shower until my vision was so bad I ended up almost crawling out of the washroom. Mental note to self, the next time the body says get the hell out, listening would be a brilliant idea OTL

The vision whiting out thing and finding it hard to breathe happened to me once at school. It felt like I dreamed up the whole thing too. I was fine after taking a nap, but the whole experience was really scary. I thought I was going to die as I dragged myself down the hall to the bathroom.

I have fainted in the shower. I was standing there washing my hair, when i looked down and suddenly my vision slowly started to go away, and i felt myself hit the bottom of my shower. I woke up still in the tub on my stomach, then my vision came back, i got out of the tub to run to my room just to take it easy, when i lost my vision again stubbling across my floor. I woke up and my mom was yelling NICOLE YOUR CHIN, i split open my chin, NEVER FELT ANYTHING, but still was bleeding everywhere. i was okay, I drank orange juice, missed my exam at school.

Maybe you fainted either the temperature was too hot, you moved around way to fast, or didnt eat. So glad your okay
