My little orang/black goldfish died T__T
I don't even know why, what went wrong or anything! I feel so awful! I go him home for just ONE day and he goes belly-up, if he had stayed in the petstore he probably would have lived longer T__T And it's not like when my bunny died when I could take him/her out of the cage to cuddle and comfort him/her, the only thing I could do was panic around my tank praying to the fish god that he'll just magically get better.
I don't UNDERSTAND what happened?! I let the water sit for a few days so the PH level evened out, I let the fish get used to the temperature of the tank water through the plastic bags yesterday, I have a filter, I gave them food but was careful not to overfeed, WHAT HAPPENED??! It couldn't have been too much toxins in the water, it's only been ONE DAY! One minute I look over he's swmimming around with his buddy, next thing I know he's laying on his side at the bottom T__T
To my baby in goldfish heaven, I'm so sorry >_< I don't know what went wrong but obviously I did SOMEthing that wasn't right. I enjoyed having you around though, short a time as it was.
Do you mind if I run by the procedures I was given for a partial water change by the petstore lady? I think I get it, but you can probably give me some tips so I don't end up killing my other little baby.
1) Measure out how much water is needed for half the tank
2) Fill a bowl/something with enough water to fill half the tank
3) Put some water conditioner in it and let it sit for 30minutes
4) Use a bowl and scoop out half the tank's water
5) Pour in the water that has been sitting with the water conditioner in it
Does that sound about right?
It's a 5Gallon tank, not big at all since I needed something that would fit on my desk. Ok, so 10-25%? That makes it a lot easier on me since finding a container around the house that holds 2.5gallons of water is a lot harder than I thought O_O
My remaining fishy's so hyper, I don't know if that's a good thing or not. I don't know if he just likes zooming around the tank or if he's flailing because he's uncomfortable with something D|
:( I'm sorry.
My dad had goldfishes a few years ago, and they died when he changed water for the first time x.x
Yeah, I'm flailing at the thought of doing a water change too.
I'm sure he's in the fish paradise now, criss-crossing a golden aquarium with lots of tiny bubbles and lots of endless fish food. You shouldnt blame yourself, such things just happen...
Thank you, I hope he's in fishy-paradise too :3
If he died the first day, he was probably already sick when you got him. Don't feel bad!
