|09:34 pm - Happy Childrens' Day~|
Almost forgot today's Childrens' Day in China (六一儿童节), too bad I'm too old for it now, lol.
PS. I'm back to hating my new job (mood swings much? XD), gonna have to keep looking for a new one it seems. Soliciting/tricking people into taking surveys is not an office job, stupid false advertising. Thanks lana_jasmine for listening to me bitch about it over dinner tonight. *Sigh*
Hey. I'm sorry that you job sucks.
I do have a suggestion of a way to supplement your income in a more enjoyable fashion. :) I've been doing a lot of piece work on a website called Rent a Coder (www.rentacoder.com). "Buyers" post piece work they need done, you go bid how much you'd be willing to complete the work for and whore yourself a little in written form and if you're lucky you get "hired." I'm doing stuff like data entry, transcription, making small graphics, web development. There's all kinds of work on there... It may be worthwhile checking out -- at first you won't be able to bring in enough to make ends meat on but it's a good way to kill time, add some more experience to your CV, make some under the table money, and ... yeah. ;)
Just to give you an idea... I get paid twice a month by them.
First payday was May 4th -- I completed two projects between Apr 23 and the 24th (one of them felt I did such a good job he gave me a 12$ USD bonus) which brought in 49.50$ USD.
Second payday was May 18th -- I completed three projects between May 6 and May 13 which brought in 48$ USD.
Third payday which I am waiting to receive via paypal in the next couple days... -- I completed 5 projects between May 17 and the 27th which is bringing in $152.25 USD!
As I said, it won't cover all the bills but a good way to bring in some extra money. :D
Whoa, that's an interesting website :O I took a glance at it, my computer-related skills are pretty limited, but I'll keep an eye on there. Thanks for the heads up!
There's all kinds of work.
I've seen translation, data entry, transcription, content writing, copywriting, writing essays in APA format, etc...
I'm definitely going to keep checking it, saw a few that were quite interesting. Thanks so much for letting me know about it!
Surveys? You mean like telemarketing?
No, we weren't selling anything (thank god). Basically the clinic that I 'work' at are giving free health workshops at these Chapters stores, GoodLife Fitness clubs, local libraries over the summer. 'Workshops' being things like how to deal with depression, weight loss, doing home trigger-point massage therapy, menstrual cramps, etc. So basically the surveys asked people IF the workshops were offered (for free) which topics they'd be interested in, and the people had to check off all the topics that interested them, then give a name and phone number so we can call them and let them know if the workshops they checked are being held, where, and when.
I think a lot of the people thought we were selling things though, they got that annoyed look as soon as I approached them with the clipboard in hand ;A;
Ah I see, I see. Sounds like fun, although knowing people they will either think its a scam or something...
I thought, judging from your clinic that people would be all over it, considering its free and all. People love free stuff. D:
Lol no problem. We should do it again soon now that I'm downtown just about everyday this summer.
We still need to go to the veggie-restaurant near my place, lol.
