|08:43 pm - ~China (Wang Yao) fanart~|
Title: Uhh...Wang Yao..?
Character(s) or Pairing(s): China
Summary: Simple character sketch :D
My first contribution to the AP Hetalia fandom :D *nervousnervous*
Whew, this took way longer than I thought it would. After not having seriously drawn anything for years this took me all afternoon to do from beginning to finish @___@ Since I've been starring at it for a few hours it's possible that either a limb's awkward or something looks off and I'm completely oblivious since I've been looking at it for so long, if that's the case feel free to point it out along with any other constructive criticism. I got lazy near the end with the background so do forgive the simplicity of it, and I have no clue how accurate the outfit is x__X
Character is China, or Wang Yao, from the anime/web comic Axis Power Hetalia (my love for nii-nii got me off my lazy ass to actually draw something again XDD). Tools used are a graphic tablet and Photoshop v. 7, bamboo patterns on the robe, patterns on the collar and the belt are not made by me though I forget where I got them from.

Comments and constructive criticisms more than welcome. I admit my shading skills are craptacular and I usually find my drawings usually result in major proportional issues (ie. head too big/small, hands too big/small, etc., etc.) XD

Write a step-by-step tutorial
Did YOU draw this? Wow, I am so jealous. What do you us Photo Shop, Corel? Why don’t you write a step-by-step tutorial for this so people like me can learn?
Re: Write a step-by-step tutorial
Thank you~ :D
I used photoshop, no idea how to use Corel, never used it ^^;;
It's actually not too hard, just time-consuming. I used a graphic tabliet to draw straight into photoshop so I can avoid the hassle of having to scan in a picture drawn on paper and then having to deal with cleaning it up, then it was just a matter of colouring using different layers to make editing/shading easier afterwards.
he looks so regal and elegant *o*
:D Thank you~
I like traditional hanfu, although I have no clue how accurate what I drew is to any particular dynasty of hanfu, lol. I do think red suits Yoa though, very festive :3
I love how he looks!! ^----^
As for shading skills, I think you just need to be more aware of where the light source is (lol, I have this problem too), but the shading itself looks good. ^^
Yeah, I think I'm just too lazy to figure out all the little nooks and crannies where there'd be shadow and all that. Some people in this fandom are so insanely talented it blows me away @___@
Head too small makes her look tall, so don't you worry about that. =)
Shading skills are still better than mine dear :"D
God, the robe is awesome ^_^ <3
Any criticism? Hmm, I'm not sure although the right arm looks weird... o.O
Hehe, photoshop makes adding patterns like the one for the robe so easy, I love that program to bits *-*
Now that you mention it his right arm does look a bit too skinny and long...although I guess skinny can give the illusion of being long so maybe if I added some more muscle/meat to his arm it'd look better.
