04:19 am - X-mas is around the corner...again!!

It's almost X-mas, it's almost X-mas~  I should haul my butt down to the Greyhound station and get my ticket to go hoooooooo~me.  I miss my mommy, didn't get to see her during the summer break so now I'm missing her like craaaaaaaazy.  You know that saying about how distance makes the heart grow fonder or whatever?  Well, I don't know if that always holds true, but it certainly does in this case, lol.

So check out my final exam schedule for this semester.  I have 4 courses in total, all of which are take-home exams.  Sweet, eh?
They are due;
- Dec. 3rd, which I already have the exam topic/question for,
- Dec. 8th, exam question of which I will get by  this coming weekend
- Dec. 19th, which I again have the exam question for and so I plan to hand in early probably on the 10th or so
- Dec. 21st, which I can hand in online (god I hope the prof gives us the questions for this early so I can get it over with and be done with it)

In other words I can probably go home on like...Dec. 11th as soon as I hand in that 3rd exam since that has to be handed in in hard-copy in person.  Which means I can basically go back for almost an entire month considering classes doesn't start until Jan. 5th...but hrm...don't know if I can handle being in that tiny town for so long..so I might stay in Ottawa a few days extra just to hang out with friends and what-not.  Or I might stay at home with mommy for 2-3 weeks and then spend the last week or so in London with my highschool friends and Andie...not to mention going to Toronto again with Andie like last year :D

Lots to do over this holidays too.  Have to tell my mom my plans for after graduation, work out some detailed plans with Andie about going to Japan next summer, then when I come back for next semester haul ass to start applying for VISA to get to Japan.  Almost graduated, almost graduated, omg it's almost time to get kicked into the real world outside of classrooms and textbooks, exams and assignments!!  So exciting...and scary, but whatever, I'll make it work somehow.  Spend a year or two in Japan, a year or two in China, get some experience, learn/improve some language skills, make some connections, have some fun, then come back to the land of beavers and maple leaves to settle down...or not...whatever, lol.  Maybe while I'm in China I'll get recruited to work at the Canadian embassy in Beijing or something, that'll be sweet.  I know they hire interns every year, that would be a killer to stick on the resume *O*

We'll see how it all goes.  I'm still young...well, 21...young-ish, young enough to take a few plunges XD  If it works out, great, if it doesn't I still have time to jump back up and restart/change course.  Either way in this lifetime I really, really, really, really want to work in Japan for at least a year and in China for at the very least two.  I'm hoping that in both places I'll find the opportunities to allow for me/attract me to stay for even longer :)  Being born in the 21st century what good is it not to take these opportunities to go global?  Being able to zip back and forth across the globe is part of the package of being born in this era :D

Better they realize and help out for a month out of the 12 in the year then not ever. I personally can't afford to go around downtown everyday giving money to the homeless during the year, but if I pass by one in December I'll usually drop them a few bucks *shrug*.

So what part of 'people can't afford it' didn't make it through the lines? Not to mention personally it doesn't motivate me to give when I see some homeless dude take the money I just gave him/her, go into a store and come out with a pack of cigarettes. Oh, and those "charities" where 80% of the money they get go to their administration and in reality they get crap done? Yeah, that's uplifting. I only have enough optimism to shove my cynicism away for a month out of a year to deal with those "charities".

I agree with you. Charity is a campaign thing, not a personal philosophy.
