News abroad and at home

So, the USA Congress relented and passed the funding bill for the Iraq war, great, just awesomely, superbly, kick in the crotch great.

In another for of fighting, the G8 had a few climate proposals for the upcoming meeting amongst the 8 economic giants of the globe.  Guess what?  It would appear that the USA administration is once again opposed to helping the future generations live a little longer.  I don't get it, I seriously don't.  The argument that putting in place standards and systems that would be eco-friendly will cause too much money I'm guessing is the main factor but I mean, come on, the future of the planet vs. money, gee which is a little more important??  Bush's grandkids are going to have to live on this planet too, but I guess those rich bastards are the ones capable of affording AC, and if more hurricanes hit the coasts they'll be the ones with money to get out first, and so what if shorelines get drowned, they'll probably have the means to live on top of Mt. Everest if pushed so far.

On a more lighter side, I was sorting through the newspapers at Amnesty International the other day (my volunteering job there started 2 weeks ago ^-^) and I came across an interesting article.  Apparently, in Ontario, there's a hydro company called Bullfrog that supplies all its electricity using 100%renewable energy, you know, wind powered, water powered, sun powered energy.  Has anyone ever heard of this company in Ontario??  I brought the article home with me and I'll type it up later, but man if this company exists what an amazing achievement for the planet!

[EDIT]:  IT'S TRUE!!! IT'S TRUE!!! BULLFROG EXISTS!!!!  Man if I had a house, I'd change right now!!  But I don't so I'll do the next best thing and email my mom and ask her if she'd be able to change her house's power to bullfrog :DDD  Omg so happy!!  GREEN POWERED HOUSE!!!
