Ottawa's temperature is absolutely insane.  One day we're around the 20 degrees (celsius), the next day, we shoot up into the 30's.  Let the days of wishing for an AC begin.

It gets down to like, 5C at night! :P

It's all different standards, really- On a trip to Tasmania (the island state that's south of Australia's mainland that a lot of people forget about) we were huddled around the heater while people jogged past in shorts and t-shirts (I think it was about 12C)- though I'm sure people from Queensland would have the same reaction coming to SA, where their winters have days of 22C, and tropical summers (eww). In fact, I'm going to Queensland in July for a week to escape the cold.

Since I've grown up with 10C being a cold day and 35 being a summer day I've gotten used to it, and it defines my 'temperature thresholds'. Though that week of 42C was a little hard to get through.

Man, I should totally seek out some Australian international students here during the winter and see how they're holding up, I mean even us Canadians bundle up like polar bears in the -30 temperatures...they must like, hibernate indoors all winter, with the heater turned up to the +30s to escape the death trap outside.
