|02:03 am - Long time no update...|
Long time no update, mostly because nothing's been happening too much. How's everyone's summer going? Summer doesn't feel like summer anymore, I miss the old summers of laying around and watching television without a care in the world. I think I say this every year when summer rolls around, but it's true. I remember back then ytv had all kids shows all morning and I'd just sit and watch all of it. Flipper, Lassie, Babar, Arthur, Lamb Chops, Papa Beaver, Barney, Once Upon a Hamster, Sailor Moon, Rupert...the good ol' days where kids didn't worship a stupid underwater sponge with an annoying voice that taught no morals and didn't help to prepare kids to become productive, benevolent members of society in the future. For those that don't know, the cartoon's called Spongebob Square Pants, a quick google should give you an idea of what the show is like. I think one time I saw a movie or an episode of it with a friend for her b-day and for about an hour we watched this scratchy-voiced sponge chase a pickle =.=
Well, anyway, anyone with any exciting plans for this summer? Travels abroad? Exciting new adventures? Exotic getaways? :)
my summer isn't going to great. can't get a job. :( and i really need one. though... aside from lack of work its ok. finally got my room back.
hos your summer? enjoyable?
Ugh, the job thing, I'm in the same situation and so are basically all of my friends. My summer so far's...well it could be worse, but it's not great either x___X I think it'd be about 50x better if I can get a good job, I mean volunteering's fine, but there comes a time when the good-will thing just doesn't cut it anymore.
yeah. i've got like the same thing going on. thinking i'll enjoy summer more if i work. and i volnteer at a school right now. but that doesn't pay me anything.
but most of my friends have jobs so i can't even hang out with them case they all busy with work.
I've never watched Spongebob and from what i hear, i havent missed much. So i might like to continue skipping this part of the tv program. But then, i rarely watch anything else but the news on tv, which is a wise thing i presume.
If we're to talk ab't good cartoon movies, i'd have to say i prefer Dexter's Lab. It gave me a good laugh and taught me many things (i think).
As for my "summer", i'm in the southern hemisphere and we're having an autumn here (winter is coming). Which is nothing like a "real" winter anyway; but its exciting to keep hoping that i could take a weekend in the mountains, and probably even go skiing on one occasions or two :)
Nope, you didn't miss much at all.
So then, if it's actually winter down south, do the schools over there then have "summer" vacation in like...December and January? Or do they still have it in June/July time except maybe call it "winter" vacation??
They have both, only the summer vacation is longer and could also be called Christmas vacation :)

I agree completely. Nothing exciting happening on my part here: doing research for my thesis and my soon to be published essay on Chinese power politics (which is highly interesting despite how boringly academic it seems), studying for the GRE with Christine, and studying for my LSAT for October. OMG, all I'm doing is studying! I hope your break will go much more interestingly than mine is!-James
