|09:22 pm - Bitchy days are the way to go.|
Summer classes begin tomorrow, bloody hell, feeling all kinds of crappy these past few days, partly because of some stuff that's been happening, but more so I think it's one of those unexplainable angst periods we all seem to get. My roommate Jackie and her boyfriend (who also rooms with us and is staying in the same room as her) just had a big blow-up this past week. Although they've made up now it was still crappy because I just about heard the entire argument through these stupid paper-thin walls. Never liked the guy to begin with and now I wanna kick him where it hurts more than ever. Remember that post I made a few days back here? Yeah well that's him in a nut-shell, a miracle I've been able to stay in the same apartment as him for the past 10 months.
On the other side, my other roommate, Angela, has a friend named Bonnie who's suppose to room with me and Angela for next year since Jackie and her boyfriend want to move into a new apartment by themselves. Since Bonnie's in China this summer me and Angela signed the lease for a 2 bedroom apartment for next year and as deposit we had to give the last month's rent. Angela didn't have enough money so I covered for all 3 of us for the time being. Then Angela went all pissy on me about having to stay in the living room in our new apartment next year and how she's not sure if she can handle it and how she should pay less since she'll be in the living room.
Number one, I'm staying in the living room this year and I only pay 5 bucks less a month, then again, so does Angela even though she has her own room, so I don't know what makes her think she's got the right to demand to pay less rent next year. On top of that, in the new apartment for next year, although Angela'll be in the living room, she gets access to a sunroom that's included in the apartment where the door opens into the living room, so if you ask me that should totally equal out the fact that she won't be in her own room. Either way, I told her I was willing to pay just $25 more since I'll be in the master bedroom next year and if she wants more lee-way she'll have to talk to Bonnie. Surprise, surprise, through the whole time she didn't even hint at when she's going to be paying me her share of the deposit, but at least her name's on the lease so it's not like she can get away.
Number two, she's whining to the wrong person as I've had to room with a complete stranger last year in residence (a boy-crazy, drama queen I later found out through the year) and this year I'm in the bloody living room having to put up with shit from both of the other rooms, especially Angela's elephant-like noise-making skills. At least from Jackie and her boyfriend's side the only time they really make noise that are actually loud enough for me to really hear (aside from the argument last week) is when they're cooking food in the kitchen, but I mean, that's understandable, they've gotta eat right? And I just gotta make sure I'm not like, napping or anything near dinner time. Angela, however, is another story. She likes singing karaoke to her music in her room, I'm surprised our windows haven't shattered yet from her voice. She even does the stereotypical singing in the shower at the top of her lungs, thankfully the fan turns on whenever you turn on the light in our washroom, that plus the sound of the water dilutes her voice a bit. On top of that, when she opens doors she yanks them open, and when she closes them she doesn't keep her hand on it so it slams shut. At first she even did that when she gets up in the middle of the freaking night so whenever she decided to pull an all-nighter for school I kept getting woken up too, but then I talked to her about it and now at least during the night she closes the door more quietly. I thought that that would be enough of a hint to her that I don't like hearing the sound of doors slamming but nope, she still does it during the daytime. Every time she closes her door my wall shakes. I don't know, is it just for me that closing doors quietly is a habit? I always close my doors as quietly as possible unless I'm pissed and mean to slam it. Even my drama-queen roomie in the dorm last year closed the door quietly, and so does Jackie for her room, is that not just common sense? Especially when you're sharing rooms?? Angela's footsteps are bloody heavy too. I thought girls were suppose to be light-footed? Guess I got proven wrong. If I'm laying down on my bed and she's walking in her room I can actually hear her footsteps even though it's all carpeted.
Lastly, now Bonnie's not sure if she wants to stay with us anymore, which pisses me off even more because if she had been here her name would be on the bloody lease as well and now all of a sudden she thinks she can get off and wash her hands of this? I don't fucking think so. Angela asked me if we can change the lease and switch to a 1 bedroom apartment so it'll just be me and her next year. Well hello, it's called a lease for a reason, you have to sign it for a fucking reason, and here's the big revelation, the reason is so you can't change your fucking mind genius. Angela gave me Bonnie's email and told me to talk to Bonnie about this. Pft, she's YOUR friend Angela, not mine, when we decided to only have 3 girls living together next year instead of 4 (we were initially going to get a 3 bedroom apartment and one of my friends, Yuechan, was going to be the 4th person) I had to tell Yuechan that she'll have to find a place on her own, I didn't dump the responsibility on YOU did I??
Not to mention lately it's been hot as an oven here in Ottawa and my 'room' is the only one with an air conditioner in it, so during the daytime Angela keeps leaving her door open so the cool air will get into her room too. Well lovely, except now I don't have a moment's peace or privacy during the daytime. If you don't like the heat then buy a fucking fan you freak.
Angela can be an awesome friend sometime, like a few weeks ago when my computer went kaput and had to be brought into the store to get fixed, she let me use her laptop for the entire week until I got my computer back. Or sometimes when I'm feeling crappy and she lets me hang out in her room to vent or something, it's great, but other times...I just...grrrrr!
The only thing that's been able to make me feel even a little better it seems is a bunny I bought about a week ago. Not sure if it's a male or female (the store clerk said it was too young to tell just yet, it's only 3.5 months old), I've just been referring to it as a 'he' just so I don't have to keep saying 'it'. He's a Rex and doesn't really have a name yet, whenever I talk to him I just use pet-names like 'baby' or 'precious' (has a few in Chinese too, I speak to him in Chinese, English, French and the odd Japanese word, a multilingual bunny lol) ^^;; So I'll finish this post with something less bitchy, got some photos of him under the cut.
I lined the bottom of the cage with 2 layers of plastic counter liners, one under the cage and one inside the cage on the very bottom level, then I taped some of that tile stuff you see on the left side (leaning between the toilet paper rolls and the dresser) on top of the counter liners. For the two top levels I used the tiles you see on the right side (leaning against the wall there, the dark coloured squares). The black square you see inside the cage on the bottom level on the left side is a marble tile, bloody heavy too. The bunny seems to like smooth surfaces as opposed to the wood shavings so I made a trip to Home Depot a few days ago to get all this stuff for him. Plus plastic makes for easier cleaning when it comes to poopoo and peepee XD He's actually pretty good about that, he only does his thing in that corner on the bottom level with the shoebox, there's a plastic box there that's filled with wood shavings so really all I have to do is dump that out every other day or so, wash it, and refill it with shavings, everywhere else it pretty clean.
And for anyone wondering where the heck I'm keeping him, his cage is in the bottom right hand corner:
Yes that's right, he's right in my 'room', it's lovely when he decides to have a spazz attack at 7 in the morning and starts jumping up and down the levels while digging and chewing on the cardboard lol. There's sawdust all around the cage, I even went out a bought a brand new vacuum cleaner just for him XD (although our apartment really needed a good cleaning anyway, 3 girls together, just imagine all the hair on the floor D= )
A quick blueprint of my 'room'.
lol reading about your roommate rants is almost like reliving my own rants from a year ago.. lol :P. you used practically the same arguments and opinions as i did about the level of noise-making hahaha. i totally understand, especially since i live in the living room too, lol.
and awwww bunny so cute~~~ did you add another unit cubed to the cage? (bottom right of cage).. i think it wasn't there when you first showed me..?
and wow, going to home depot to buy all this stuff for him *__* haha.. must have been tiring bringing that all back (did you go to the home depot around st. laurent? or south keys?)
There's a Home Depot around St. Laurent??? I didn't know that ;____; Ah well, took a bus anyway. Yeah I added another cubey thing for him so he'd have more room to race around, and boy does he ever, I'm starting to find that everytime he spazzes it's like his way of telling me "Gimme more carrots!!" :3
As for the roommate, I mean if you know someone's living in the living room, wouldn't you go that little extra way to be a little more quiet than usual?? I don't know, like for me, if I have a morning class or something and I know she doesn't I might even make it a point not to cook breakfast and just grab something outside just so I wouldn't be banging pots and pans around when she might be trying to sleep in or something. I don't know if Angela's really just that clueless and incosiderate or if sometimes she does it on purpose, and then whenever I talk to her about it she gets all indignant like I'm too fussy or whatever.
awww hahaha cute bunny.
wow lol.. michelle and archana make breakfast at home regardless.. archana usually tries to be a little more quiet, but michelle is like reckless abandon all the freaking time. archana and i can always feel her footsteps vibrating on the ground - yeah, she walks THAT hard. i'm not sure if she is clueless/inconsiderate or does it on purpose.. i'm sure she doesn't do it on purpose cause like come on, when have i ever roused her from sleep. ~_~ or bothered her.. sigh. i haven't bothered talking to her about it though, cause she just has this vibe about her that is like always pissed off or something. so yeah. we (me and archana) try not to have to deal with her on unpleasant matters cause she invariably makes us feel like we're at fault lol. oh well, just one year left.
Yeah I was thinking that if I can just find a job or something and earn at least 400 bucks a month I can use that added to the 400 or so I usually spend on rent when sharing an apartment and rent a 1 bedroom or something so it'll be just myself, but right now I don't really feel like working, especially not some crappy little job at like, MacDonalds or some retail store serving customers so I guess I'll have to suffer with the noise, at least in August I'll be in my own room, finally. I've had my own room since 6 years old and now for the past 2 years I've had to put up with not having my personal space.
The bunny really has some stupid moments, I'm considering naming him Dumb-Dumb...DD...Double D? XDDD Haha, my bunny's a "Double-D" *snicker*
LOL about the bunny!!!! haha. dd :P dd sounds better than double d, but then it sounds like the air-headed name "didi". ugh lol.
what stupid moments does he have? XDD
haha.. i've never really had my own room.. of my twenty-one years of existence, i think i had my own room, a REAL room, for three of those years.. and one of them was res in first year lol. before res, i hadn't had a real room since i was four years old. :P. so.. i guess i'm used to the living room thing.
isn't it expensive to live by yourself? like apartment rent-wise.. unless you go for a studio or a bachelor or something?
I think it's about 800-900 bucks for a one bedroom apartment, depending on where abouts you look, bachelors are 700-800 I think? Not quite sure...need to hurry up and get a cushiony government job lol.
The bunny sometimes he gets these spazz periods, usually at least 2 or 3 times a day, and he'll like, twitch and run around the cage while jumping between the levels. The thing is though that that marble block is really slippery (actually so's the rest of the tiles, but the marble's the most slippery) and whenever he runs full speed into that side of the cage he ends up sliding and smacking into the side of the cage. Then he gets all twitchy.
Or sometimes, he'll try to stand on that little space in front of the log cabin on the top level and try to jump on top of the cabin. The problem is though there's not that much space and sometimes he loses his footing and falls over. I've even caught him once trying to twist around to clean his own back and he twisted so much that he knocked himself over XDD
yeah, i was thinking 800-900 as well. haha that cushiony government job needs to come to us :P.
LOL spazz periods... yeah my sister's rabbits used to do that too.. all of a sudden they'd race around the basement several times for no apparent reason... hilarious lol. oh my, sliding and smacking the side of the cage. lol silly rabbit (trix are for kids! lol). aww twitchy.. twitchy like scared twitchy?
omg loses footing and falls over.. like on the same level? or falls lower down the cage O_____O. haha about the knocking self over in the name of personal hygiene lolol XDD.

your room is so tiny :O

the rabbit is really, really cute though.
Yeah it's not very big, it's so easy to trip on something because there's just that one little path to get through the room lol, I'm always saying navigating through my room is like going through an obstacle course XD
And thanks, I love just sitting in front of the cage sometimes and watching him, even if he's just sitting there not doing anything and I think to myself "why don't I look that cute chubby???"

Animals are a great source of comfort. Lucky you... *sniffs* I've always wanted a bunny. :P *jealous*
/hugs/ Wow... roommates... o_O
Really?? You've never got a bunny? Have you had any other pets? Maybe a hamster? Or even a birdie? I've always wanted a puppy but due to having lived in apartments most of my life that wasn't really allowed, so I've had just about every other type of small-animal pets instead ^^;; Back then they were just small and furry things to be bossed around (though they never listened to me anyway XD) but now with this one I find myself ranting and venting all my problems to it (and practicing my baby-talk at the same time lol, trying to talk politics using baby-talk is proving to be very interesting. The bunny just flops down in his cage and stares at me the whole time I'm ranting, by now he probably thinks his name is Bush thanks to the mass amounts of time I've ranted about the guy lol).
Yeah roommates are annoying, after 4 years of this I think I can probably survive just about anything D:

Not really. I've taken care of stray cats that stayed around my old house, but never an official pet. I'm not allowed pets. T_T My parents are... blargh. x_X I've alwayssssss wanted a bunny.
