|08:49 pm - *eyeroll*|
I wrote a poem on my lj last October (http://koneko-desu.livejournal.com/116782.html) and if you read the comments of that post, you can see there's again some crediting issues that hopefully will be dealt with soon. But that's not what this post is about actually, because of that poem issue, I went googling for my username just to see what's out there. 99% of the hits were merely my own journal entries, but I did find a particular one:
For those that don't know, awhile back I posted some scans from a magazine (http://koneko-desu.livejournal.com/127644.html
) that one of my cousins had sent to me. Unfortunately, some other chick claimed they were her scans (her comment here
). I explained to her that these scans were sent by my cousin, and the fact that I had posted them BEFORE she posted her own scans on her blog (although true you can manipulate the time of posting through the edit button, so I guess that argument isn't fool-proof). She, however, maintained that the scans were her's, therefore I offered my cousin's email so that she can contact my cousin 1-on-1. Instead she gave me her email which is fine so I sent the message along to my cousin asking her (my cousin)to get in touch with this girl. Now whether my cousin actually contacted her or not I don't know, I haven't spoken to my cousin for months now since she's going crazy preparing for university entrance exams over in China.
Either way, through my googling adventure today, I found the girl's blog where she actually wrote about the incident. Now it's in traditional Chinese so I kind of had to pick and choose my way through, but I definitely got the jist of what she's saying. Basically she's still claiming those scans are her's, and she's telling other people to beware of me (I'm flattered). The responses are actually pretty mature, though predictable, in comparison to our usual flame-throwing wars on lj when someone on here is accused of taking credit for someone else's works although there were a few immature comments (sorry sweeties that I don't prefer looking like sticks walking down the street, how shallow and irrelevant to the issue at hand can some people get). There IS someone (went by the name pinkee) on there that made a comment who said she (I'm going to assume it's a she) knew me through lj as well and actually knows me pretty well (if you'd like to raise your hand here I wouldn't mind, I'm incredibly curious as to who it was).
So, all in all, just wanted to vent that and get some of your takes on this situation (though mostly wrote this entry just to vent and rant....wow no swearing no screaming no hissing, kicking, or punching, this has got to be a first on my journal under the "rant" tag =D).
IN OTHER NEWS, I didn't get the student ambassador job, which suuuuuuucks. I really, really, really wanted it *sigh* Oh well, got myself hooked up with some new French tutors for this summer and possible for the next school year, so if all goes well my French skills are going up and up, yay~!! Once I get past that barrier I think I'm going to apply to be a page at the Senat in the Parliament....NEED TO FIND A GOOD AND SATISFYING JOB!!! (In other words NOT serving customers, I'll serve the people, but I WON'T serve customers).

Hiya, how have you been? I've been trying to ask you something on MSN in what seems forever, but you've always been away! *shakes fist at your popularity* nah, just kiddin'! Listen, I know this seems like a strange request, but since you know Mandarin better than anyone I know (actually...you're the *only* one I know that knows Mandarin ^^;) Alrighty. I need to know if this
(the first post by Betty) and this
are both Mandarin, or actually the same language altogether
<3 All Round
They're both the same, traditional Chinese. There's no difference in written Chinese between Mandarin and Cantonese. Generally traditional Chinese is used in Hong Kong and Taiwan while simplified Chinese is used on mainland, but most people who're fluent in reading one can read in both.
