|12:15 pm - Party Night~|
So, the end of our big "Party Night" has arrived and before I forget all the gory details I'll just make a quick list here, pictures will be added at a later post, so hang tight ^-^
So, in the afternoon, me and my friend Cat went shopping at an Asian grocery store as we had decided that dinner was going to be Chinese food. On the menu was:
- Stir fry
- Pork ribs
- BBQ duck
- Winter melon soup
- Garlic heart with pork
- Congee jelly with mixed fruits for dessert
So after racing around the grocery store like maniacs, we bought all our ingredients and headed to my place. At 4:30pm, I went to the meet-up location to meet Takumi and bring him over to our place. Cat thought he looked totally like a girl, and Michael (Mike), Jackie (one of my roomie)'s boyfriend, had a "wtf" look on his face as he was introduced to Takumi. I was later told by Jackie that after the introduction, Mike had turned to her and said something along the lines of "Are you sure that's a guy??".
So then we sat around, chatted, played some video games. Takumi brought his PSP and gameboy I think was the name of it (I don't play video games) and him and Jackie talked up a storm on Final Fantasy and such. Takumi had a great time showing us the advanced technologies of the Japanese video game industry leaving Jackie green with envy that such things did not exist IN ENGLISH lol. I must admit this was the first time I really took the time to look at Takumi up close. Usually we just see each other for class and everything so hectic that there's not too much time to sit down and really look at a person. This time, since I'm clueless to video games and thus had no idea what they're talking about, I just stood off to the side and really watched him, and the more I watch him, the more he looks and acts like a girl x__X;;
By 6:30, me and Cat started in on cooking dinner. I was in charge of chopping and cutting (in the washroom like last time since there's no room in our tiny kitchen) and Cat in charge of....everything else lol. But before that, Takumi found my giant stash of anime CD/DVD's (3 binders full of discs to be exact). So of course we flipped through them and he came across my BL CD XDD Needless to say he was surprised I knew about this subcategory of anime/manga at all much less was as entranced by it as I am. He told me he used to read BL too because his sister (whom now studies at University of Toronto) is also a fan of BL and used to bring those mangas home. I showed him my doujinshi collection (hid my really porno ones earlier thank goodness, so the most he saw in the ones on my bookshelf was some kissing) and a few lj comms on the subject along with the DMP and June Manga websites. He was really impressed that BL's gotten as popular over here as it has, and amused too. He even offered to translate the doujinshi's for me since it's all in Japanese to which I politely decline because...well, you know...the important parts of those doujinshi's don't really need too much translation to understand lol.
By now Angela, another roommate had arrived home from work and her and Cat took over the kitchen. Jackie also invited her friend Cynthia along to the party, and she happens to also love anime and BL, great isn't it? Lol. Ok, so for anyone confused the list of party guests were:
-Michael/Mike (roommate and Jackie's boyfriend)
-Takumi (friend from University)
-Cat (friend from University)
-Cynthia (friend from University)
As they were cooking, me and Takumi went on my computer and he showed me some photos of Japan and we chatted a bit more. I also had bought a poster with George W. Bush's stupidest quotes on it and we had a good laugh at them. During dinner, all of us gathered in Angela's room and watched Saiyuki and Heroes. The meal was delicious =*-*= Afterwards, we herded over to Jackie and Mike's room to play video games. There were some racing, some fighting, and some DDR lol. Takumi's dancing was awesome XDD Ah we had so much fun, all of us at some point laughed so hard that our stomachs were hurting and our eyes were watering =D Good times, good times. Finally after hours of DDR, Cynthia had to go home (this was at around 1:30 in the morning already) and Cat and Takumi decided to head home too. However, under some
peer pressure tactical persuasion Cat and Takumi decided to sleep-over for the night. So Jackie and Mike went to drive Cynthia home (Mike's the only one here with a car) and me, Cat, Takumi and Angela played a few rounds of Crazy 8's (it's a card game). In the process we got to see some more of Takumi's awesome dancing skills XDD Finally Angela decided to head for bed as she had to get up early to go to school in the morning to work on a project. Me and Cat stayed up a little while longer talking to Takumi in my room (man some of the things he told us were so funny, like how when he was in junior high people would mistake him for a girl and he didn't understand why, and I was biting my tongue thinking "yeah well they still do my boy" *snicker* He's such an adorable boy lol) and surfing the web until about 4:30am before we decided to call it a day finally .
So in the end Cat ended up sleeping in Angela's room (as per usual when she sleeps over, usually if Cat comes over on the weekend we won't let her leave so she just ends up sleeping over lol) and Takumi slept in my room. Me and him argued for half an hour over who was going to sleep on the fricking bed. He insisted I take it being the girl and all, and I insisted he take it since he's the guest. In the end I gave in and slept on the bed, but no big deal seeing as we only got like...5 hours of sleep anyway @__@ Both of us woke up at around 10am and he decided to head on home, so I walked him to the bus station on our university campus.
Gathered from my observations of this event, I have deduced that....well basically that everything I've ever learned about guys just got blown out of water and into the stratosphere shooting through our solar system and into the galaxy. Now pardon me as I go crash on my bed, my friends want to go skating later on the freaking Canal...and I really don't like skating on the Canal since the ice sucks, I'd much prefer going to an indoor rink, but with my current span of concentration, I think I might run a few kids over @___@;;
