1)
So, we've entered December, the time when we see the food bank bags in grocery stores and think twice about the homeless on the streets.  Here on lj, there is this wonderful little community, it's called Paying It Forward , if you have a dollar or two to spare, take a peek through that journal and see if there's someone you can give a helping hand to.

Also, how many times a month does a person search for something online?  What if every single time you googled something, a penny gets donated to a charity of your choosing?  Sounds like a good idea?  Then try: http://www.goodsearch.com/
Type in the charity organization you want your penny to go to, click verify, and then search away!   Sure a penny doesn't sound like much, but:
If 100 people search 2 times a day for a year, that 's $730
If 1,000 people searched 2 times a day for a year, that 's $7,300
and If 10,000 people searched 2 times a day for a year, that's $73,000
2 seconds of your day, to make a world of difference, not bad eh?

Light a candle in the fight against AIDS, for every candle lit, Bristol-Meyers Squibb will donate $1 to the fight.

It's the end of the year, after a year of fighting, bloodshed, tears, and pain, let's take some time and once again renew the hope that humans, in the end are still good, and that even with the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, we can still take the time to extend a helping hand to those with less fortune than us.
